Overview

Oron is a range of home cleaning products from Yeturu Bio-Tech Limited in Hyderabad, India, a client we have worked with for more than ten years on different products. We designed the pouch packaging for four products: Oron Dish Wash, Oron Laundry Detergent, Oron Aloe Hand Wash and Oron Floor Cleaner. 

Challenge

The client wanted every pack to look different, yet clearly belong to one family. Almost all of the designs were pouches, and pouches look similar on a shelf. So each pack had to stand out from other brands, and from the other Oron products next to it.

The client had a clear vision for the range. They wanted designs that are eye-catching and refreshing, and they had researched their products in depth. Our first question was not “how should it look?” but “what will actually work in the market?”

Approach

We started with research. Before making any design, we studied a wide range of cleaning products in real supermarkets and on online marketplaces. From this, we chose three principles and kept to them across the whole range:

A name that stands out. The Oron name had to catch the eye among competing brands.
Clarity about what is inside. A shopper should understand what the product is at a glance.
The colour of the product. Colour was our third guide, so each pack feels right for what is inside.
We also worked on the details. In every design, we placed each object carefully and chose its size so that the eye moves from one element to the next in order.

Outcome

All four pouch designs were approved by the client after their own testing. The Oron range is presented on the client’s website.
