Overview

Starmark is a bookstore and leisure retail chain in eastern India, part of the Emami Group. Its stores offer books, stationery, toys, gifts, movies and music. We created the interior art direction for two of its branches, designing a dedicated poster for each area of the store.

Challenge

The brief was open. Starmark asked for interior posters that were truly creative, with no fixed style to follow. The difficulty was variety: a store like this holds many different products and customers, and one look could not serve them all. Our first insight was that each area needed its own personality, while the store as a whole still had to feel like one place.

Approach

We treated each area as its own creative task and designed every poster around what that part of the store offers. The same approach was then carried across both branches, so customers get a consistent experience wherever they shop.

Outcome

The full set of posters was completed for both branches. The project went smoothly.
